Hydraulic Union or Straight Coupling - DIN 2353

Hydraulic straight union din 2353 single bite ferrule type

A hydraulic union or straight coupling DIN 2353 single bite ferrule type is a type of hydraulic fitting that is commonly used in high-pressure hydraulic systems. The coupling is a three piece design coupling assembly consisting of three distinct parts

Components of the Hydraulic Union Straight Coupling Assembly :

The Hydraulic Straight Coupling assembly consists of :

The Main Union Body,  the Nuts and the Ferrules or Cutting Rings.

Union Body : The Main Union Body is the Male threaded adapter which has a special 24 Degrees conical seats at both ends to seat the Ferrules or cutting rings and a center step seat for the Hydraulic Tube or Pipe to rest on, in the coupling assembly.

Progressive Nut : The Nuts are the tightening portion of the coupling as it screws onto the coupling body and presses the ferrule or cutting ring onto the pipe.

Progressive Ferrule or Cutting Ring : The Cutting Ring or Ferrule is the main part or the Soul of the fitting as it crimps down on to the pipe and the hardened edge creates a cut and displaced burr onto the the pipe when being pressed down onto the pipe by the downward pressing action of the Progressive Nut.  This ferrule or cutting ring now holds the pipe firmly and does not move or slip out when pressure is applied onto the hydraulic pipe assembly.

The single bite ferrule type coupling assembly is named after the ferrule that is used to hold the tubing or pipe in place. The ferrule is a small, cylindrical metal ring that is placed around the tubing or pipe and is crimped onto the surface of the tubing or pipe using a special crimping tool. This creates a secure, leak-proof connection between the tubing or pipe and the coupling assembly.

Advantages of Hydraulic Union or Straight Coupling Assembly

The hydraulic straight union DIN 2353 single bite ferrule type coupling assembly has several advantages over other types of hydraulic coupling assemblies. One of the main advantages is that it provides a secure, leak-proof connection that can withstand high pressures and vibrations. The ferrule also helps to distribute the load evenly across the surface of the tubing or pipe, which helps to prevent damage to the tubing or pipe.

Another advantage of the single bite ferrule type coupling assembly is that it is easy to install and requires no special tools or equipment. The ferrule is crimped onto the tubing or pipe using a simple crimping tool, which can be easily carried out in the field or in a workshop. The coupling assembly can also be easily disconnected and reconnected, which makes it easier to repair or replace components in the hydraulic system.

The hydraulic straight union DIN 2353 single bite ferrule type coupling assembly is available in a variety of sizes and materials to suit different hydraulic system requirements. The sizes range from 4mm to 42mm, and the materials include steel, stainless steel, brass, and aluminum. The choice of material depends on the specific requirements of the hydraulic system, such as the operating pressure, temperature, and the presence of corrosive materials.

In summary, a hydraulic straight union DIN 2353 single bite ferrule type coupling assembly is a reliable, leak-proof, and easy-to-install hydraulic coupling assembly that is widely used in high-pressure hydraulic systems. The ferrule provides a secure connection between the tubing or pipe and the coupling assembly, which helps to prevent leaks and damage to the system. The coupling assembly is available in a variety of sizes and materials, making it suitable for a wide range of hydraulic system applications.
