SS Instrumentation Tube Fittings - double compression ferrule type

Stainless Steel (SS) double compression tube fittings are a type of fitting used to connect and seal two tubes or pipes together. These fittings are designed to provide a secure, leak-tight connection, while also allowing for easy installation and removal.

SS double compression tube fittings are made from high-quality stainless steel, which offers several advantages over other materials. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, durable, and able to withstand high temperatures and pressures. This makes it an ideal choice for use in a variety of applications, including those in the chemical, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries.

One of the key benefits of SS double compression tube fittings is their ability to create a reliable and leak-tight connection between two tubes or pipes. The fitting consists of four main components: a body, a front ferrule, a back ferrule, and a nut. The body of the fitting is designed to hold the two tubes or pipes in place, while the front and back ferrules provide a seal around the tubes. The nut is used to tighten the ferrules onto the tubes, creating a tight seal that prevents leaks.

The double compression design of these fittings provides a more secure and reliable connection than single compression fittings. This is because the front and back ferrules compress the tube in two places, rather than just one, which helps to distribute the force of the nut evenly and prevent the tube from deforming or cracking. This also means that the fitting can be used with a wider range of tube materials and sizes.

SS double compression tube fittings are also easy to install and remove. Unlike welded or threaded connections, which can be time-consuming and require specialized equipment, tube fittings can be installed using basic hand tools. This makes it easy to make repairs or modifications to a piping system without the need for costly downtime.

In addition to their reliability and ease of installation, SS double compression tube fittings also offer several other benefits. For example, they can be used with a wide range of fluids, including liquids, gases, and steam. They are also able to withstand high temperatures and pressures, making them suitable for use in demanding applications.

SS double compression tube fittings are available in a variety of sizes, materials, and configurations to suit different applications. Some common sizes include 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, and 3/4″, while materials may include stainless steel, brass, or carbon steel. Different configurations may include male or female connectors, elbows, tees, crosses, and unions.

When selecting SS double compression tube fittings for a particular application, several factors should be considered. These include the type of fluid being transported, the pressure and temperature requirements, and the size and material of the tubes or pipes being connected. Consulting with a knowledgeable supplier or manufacturer can help ensure that the right fittings are selected for a particular application.

Overall, SS double compression tube fittings are a reliable and versatile choice for connecting and sealing tubes or pipes in a variety of industrial applications. Their high-quality materials, leak-tight design, and ease of installation make them an excellent choice for use in demanding environments where reliability and performance are critical.

Types of SS double compression tube fittings

There are several types of SS double compression tube fittings available to suit different application requirements. Some common types include:

Male connector: A male connector is a fitting that has a threaded end that can be screwed into a female port or fitting. This type of fitting is commonly used to connect a tube or pipe to a valve or other component.

Female connector: A female connector is a fitting that has a threaded port that can accept a male connector or other fitting. This type of fitting is commonly used to connect a tube or pipe to a valve or other component.

Elbow: An elbow is a fitting that is used to change the direction of a tube or pipe. Elbows are available in different angles, such as 45 or 90 degrees, and can be used to make a bend in a piping system.

Tee: A tee is a fitting that is used to create a branch in a piping system. Tees are available in different configurations, such as equal or reducing, and can be used to connect multiple tubes or pipes together.

Cross: A cross is a fitting that is used to create a branch in a piping system in a perpendicular direction. Crosses are similar to tees but have a fourth port that is perpendicular to the other three.

Union: A union is a fitting that is used to connect two tubes or pipes together in a way that allows for easy disassembly. Unions are commonly used in applications where maintenance or repairs may be required.

Cap: A cap is a fitting that is used to seal the end of a tube or pipe. Caps are commonly used in applications where the end of a tube or pipe is not connected to another component.

Plug: A plug is a fitting that is used to seal a threaded port or hole. Plugs are commonly used in applications where a component or valve is not currently in use.

Reducer: A reducer is a fitting that is used to connect two tubes or pipes of different sizes. Reducers can be used to transition between different sizes of piping or to connect different components together.

SS double compression tube fittings are also available in different materials, including stainless steel, brass, and carbon steel, and can be designed to suit different pressure and temperature requirements. The type of fitting chosen for a particular application will depend on the specific requirements of the system and the materials being transported.

SS Male Connector

This is a Connector used to connect one end to the tube of the line and other end to the valve or manifold assembly.  This is a double ferrule connector assembly consisting the Connector Body, Double Ferrule and Nut.

The size range manufactured is from 1/8″ OD to 1″ OD on the tube end and 1/8″ NPT to 1″NPT at the threaded end

SS Equal Union

This is a straight connector used to connect to ends of a pipe of the same size or diameter. It consists of the main body, two nuts and two double compression ferrules.   The two ends of the pipe can be connected to the two ends of the Union.  The material is generally SS 304 or SS 316 grade and size Range is from 1/8″ OD to 1″ OD

SS Equal Elbow

Equal Elbows in SS Double compression fittings are used where the line takes a turn of 90 deg. This fitting gives a smooth 90 deg turn to the line without having to bend the tube.
